
General Staff reports 175 clashes on frontline over past day, fiercest fighting in Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka sectors
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in 08:00 update on June 16, according to Ukrinform.
“A total of 175 combat engagements occurred over the past day,” the post reads.
According to the General Staff, the enemy carried out four missile strikes and 54 airstrikes using 11 missiles and 99 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, Russian troops fired over 5,800 artillery round, including 67 from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed more than 3,000 kamikaze drones against Ukrainian targets.
Among the hardest-hit locations were settlements across several regions: Petrushivka in Sumy region, Krasnyi Khutir and Hremiachka in Chernihiv region, Koptieve, Novopavlivka, Poltavka, Razine, Sukhyi Yar, Novopil, Tolstoi, Voskresenka, and Myrne in Donetsk region, Novodarivka and Zaliznychne in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Odradokamianka in Kherson region.
In response, Ukraine’s aviation, missile, and artillery units successfully targeted 22 clusters of enemy personnel, weapons, and military hardware, delivering significant blows to the Russian forces.
In the Kharkiv sector, seven offensive attempts by Russian troops were repelled near Vovchansk, Starytsia, Kamianka, and in the vicinity of Dovhenke.

In the Kupiansk sector, the Ukrainian defenders pushed back 11 enemy assaults near Holubivka, Zahryzove, Stepova Novoselivka, and toward Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhliakivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces launched 14 attacks aiming to advance near Kopanky, Novoiehorivka, Lypove, and toward Shandryholove, Olhivka, Karpivka, Torske, and Hryhorivka.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops successfully thwarted four enemy assaults near Serebrianka and Hryhorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, ten clashes occurred near Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, Novomarkove, and Kurdiumivka.

In the Toretsk sector, the enemy launched 15 attacks near Toretsk, and toward Rusyn Yar, Novospaske, Oleksandro-Kalynove, and Yablunivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 46 enemy assaults in the areas of Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Oleksiivka, as well as in the directions of Mykolaivka, Novopavlivka, Novomykolaivka, and Pokrovsk.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 32 enemy attempts to break through defensive lines in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Novosilka, Vilne Pole, Novyi Komar, as well as in the directions of Zaporizhzhia, Novoukrainka, Myrne, Shevchenko, Odradne, and Bahatyr.

In the Orikhiv sector, three enemy assaults near Novoandriivka were repelled.

In the Kursk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 24 attacks and withstood heavy shelling, including 12 airstrikes and 233 artillery bombardments.

No significant enemy offensive activity was detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
The General Staff emphasized that Ukrainian defenders continue to inflict substantial losses on Russian troops, actively weakening the enemy’s offensive capabilities behind the lines.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russia’s total combat losses in its full-scale war against Ukraine have reached approximately 1,005,060 personnel as of June 16, 2025. This includes 1,200 Russian troops killed in the past 24 hours alone.
